Vlix is where I ship the apps I build, from Perth, Western Australia. I have been doing this for 17 years, across iPhone, Android, Mac, Windows and the web.

Design to App Store

What I Do Myself

I take a product the whole way, from the first screen to the version sitting in the store with real users on it.

The App

  • I design the screens and build the app for iPhone, Android, Mac, Windows and the web.
  • I take it through App Store and Play Store review, including the rejections, the privacy forms and the store listing.
  • I keep shipping updates after launch, because the first version is never the one that works.

Everything Behind It

  • I write the backend and run the server the app talks to, so there is no third party to wait on.
  • I build the website that sells it, this one included.
  • The infrastructure is already in place: domains, certificates, a CDN, analytics and nightly backups.

17 Years of It

  • Anyone can put an app together now. Shipping one that survives real users, a store review and its second year is a different job.
  • Everything on this site is live and downloadable, not a portfolio of things that almost launched.
